lunchtime

It's just about lunchtime so I'm obviously thinking about food. I'm always in the mood for some Chinese, but as I've mentioned before, the lack of good Chinese food around my work is disappointing. The lunchtrucks aren't as good as they should be...but good has arrived!

Sang Kee is tapped to be opening a spot in the Sheraton University City. I've heard nothing but praise for this place, yet I've not been. Has anyone ever tried this spot? They currently have two locations - Chinatown and Reading Terminal. I always see the Chinatown place when I'm on 676 which subsequently makes me drool on my steering wheel.

I don't know when their opening their new location, but I'll be waiting. Sigh.

Also newly opened... Brauhaus Schmitz on South Street. I CANNOT WAIT TO TRY THIS PLACE. I have a deep affinity for wienerschnitzel, cabbage, potato pancakes, and of course German beer. I'm trying to wait so they can work out the kinks, but I'm terribly impatient. Goal: eat here by end of August so if it's good enough I will come back for Oktoberfest.

All this talk about food is making me more and more pumped by the minute for the AC Food & Wine Fest this weekend. I'll be prepping my own food fest this evening: beef kabobs with Hawaiian marinade (mango!papaya!pineapple!), along with some corn on the cob and zucchini (thank you Mom).

Actually, thank you Kim and John. They gave me a huge!!!zucchini, which I'll probably make zucchini bread with.
